Legal frameworks for urban planning and regularization of informal settlements in South East Europe; regional study

The regional project Comparative analysis of the legal frameworks for urban planning in the member states of NALAS (Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe) includes the activities on collecting regulations on planning in 13 countries/territories of national associations of local authorities, participating in the analysis study.
This project provides the information on regulations and practices of urban planning and land management, while the special attention was given to the analysis of legislation and practice treating the informal residential construction, informal settlements and their regularization and buildings legalization. Individul case studies from Macedonia, Albania and Serbia analyzed details from practice, and in the end gave the proposal of the steps within the legalization process applicable in the most of countries in South-East Europe.
